R. J. Reid was born in Dennison, Texas and raised in Missoula, Montana.
He started playing guitar at the age of 8 when his grandfather gave him
an old Kay flat-top acoustic.
R. J. started listening and playing blues at the age of 12 and put together
his first band the same year, playing in many bands until a six year stint
in the USAF from 1971 to 1977.
After leaving the service, Reid moved to Tucson, Arizona, playing blues
all over the southwest. Moving to Illinois in 1988, Reid has been seen
all over the midwest playing his rocking blues.
In 1994 Reid moved to Greeley, Colorado bringing his roadhouse rocking
blues all over the front range.
Reid's guitar style is in the vein of Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter,
and Eric Clapton. Reid has opened for many national acts, such as Delbert
McClinton, Charlie Musslewhite, and Firefall.
Whether going to see his one-man blues band or his whole band, you are
in for scorching rocking blues like you have never heard before.
